THODEY, Charlotte (b.1951)

Following a successful exhibition at the Chateau Villandry in the Loire Valley, France 2012, Australian still life artist Charlotte Thodey presented an exhibition at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney in 2013 from which this painting was first purchased.

Charlotte is renowned for her bold rendering of fruit and vegetables which she loves to recreate using shadow and light, with blemishes and lusciousness intact. Her sumptuous artworks demonstrate the delicate freedom enjoyed by this still life art form.
