LUKE SCIBBERUS (BORN 1975)

Luke Sciberras is predominantly a landscape painter who spends most of his time working plein air ( painting outdoors and on site), he is a keen observer of nature and the natural Australian landscape. I recently read that Scibberus hopes to have you thinking about his artmaking long after you have left the room and I have to say this is exactly the effect his entry into this year's Wynne Prize had on me! Sciberras has held more than 40 solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and numerous regional galleries. He has also been a finalist in numerous art prizes and Sciberras' work is highly collectable.
