Ponte Vecchio, Florence

This is a lovely etching by Sir John William (Will) Ashton of one of the most recognisable views of Florence, the Ponte Vecchio. It has been presented in an antique black and gilt frame that is very ornate and has an aged appeal. There is also a certificate attached to the back with some history about the artwork.

Do you collect artworks when you travel or like to collect artworks from places that you have been? I have to admit that I'm a sucker for it and love having reminders of my travels around my home!

This work has a certificate which reveals part of its Provenance and history (see photo below).

Medium: etching on paper.

Size: 8 x 10cm, frame 50 x 60cm.

Condition: the etching is in excellent condition and the frame is very good. I have recently had new mount boards and a new backing done to preserve the artwork for many years to come.
