Yarra Valley Landscape 1946

KATHLEEN BARNES (1904-1990)

This stunning landscape was painted in 1946 in the Yarra Valley which depicts lush green paddocks and rolling hills. Barnes has cleverly placed the trees in layers of depth to give interest and to bring the painting to life. The pallet is naturalistic and gives the feel of Autumn with the poplars looking like they are loosing their leaves. I would like to visit the Yarra Valley wineries and take in this lovely view for myself (possibly with a wine in hand!)

Condition: excellent with a well maintained gilt frame.
